I am a doctor and I have been preparing for my postgraduate exam for over a year. Due to the pandemics it has been postponed twice and since then I have been fed up with having to study daily. And it's very crucial for me to study hard in order to arrive to my dreams. So here are some ways that I feel had helped me in maintaining a consistency.
Planning my study schedule - I usually make a list of topics and subjects that I want to cover the night before and put it front of my study table to make sure that I get reminded of daily.
Documenting my study through Youtube - so I have started my youtube channel recently and I am trying to make study vlogs and some informative vlogs and somehow it's motivating me to study better and more.
Start of the day - usually I start my day with a topic that I love to read, this motivates me to start of the day by studying. If the mind is screwed from the morning from some some shitty topics surely it's hard to continue that frequency throught day.
End of the day- I always revise my topics at the end of the day. I donot take any fresh topics to study at night because already our mind has consumed a lot by the end of the day.
Pomodoro technique- In this technique there is study period of 25 mins and then a break of 5 mins. There are apps that can help you do the same , I use a app call forest. It's usually seen that we can maximum concentrate for 40 mins.so 25 mins sound good to me.
Journaling my progress- so every 2 stop at pomodoro technique I usually document what I did in one past hour in my notepad. It's helps in improving our psycology towards a more constructive day.
Remember your destination- This ritual I have been doing everyday wherein morning and night I remind myself the reason behind my hardwork, the place I have to reach, the destination that is been waiting for me.
Have a good sleep- It doesn't matter if you sleep at one at night as long as it's a routine and we are giving good 7-8 hrs of sleep. It's important as it rewires our information and memory circuit in our brain 🧠.
Extracurricular activity - It's almost impossible to study for 14- 15 hrs everyday, so I included something other than studying like walking in park, blogging, cooking making YouTube videos , learning chess, enjoying my time with friends.
Pretend you are teaching - I have been doing this a long time where in first I read my topic intently and then pretend to teach using some lame man language , say making it super easy for other person to understand.
I hope you doing this helpful!.
