Culture is inbuilt in all individuals. Everyone somewhere or the other is affected by the impacts of culture. Culture is not only limited to religion caste or gender but it also means identity. A person who is proud of his identity is obviously said to be proud of his culture. In this huge world, one may find numerous cultures prevailing all over. Different people have different sets of beliefs and principles. Believing in their own ideologies and views also differentiates a group of people from the other but if one looks from a broader point of view culture holds different people together with one main sight that everyone in the world believes and is proud of their own culture.

With culture impacting all sides of our lives we also have culture affecting tourism. With tourism being the most prominent growing industry the effects of culture on tourism are many. There are many reasons why people take up travel and the most common out of all the reasons is culture.

Everyone wants to learn about the various kinds of culture, language, beliefs. How one set of people are different from others would always end up pricking curiosity among people and that’s where culture comes in. When a person travels to a place other than his place of residence he gets to explore the culture the other place has to offer, be it anything dining in a local restaurant, to visiting their historical sites or initiating a conversation with locals all somewhere ends being a part of the culture.

Not only that some individuals intentionally visit religious places to know more about the culture because this is one of the ways how individuals learn more about themselves and the world. Engaging with different people who have so much to offer other than what one has always heard is so much motivated to take up travel to different kinds of places. The impact of culture on tourism also explains the growing relationship between tourism and culture and how these two together affects the destinations and attractiveness.

While people travel, the culture that they are exposed to leads to an imprint on their lifestyles, infrastructure and their way of thinking. If we look on the other side of the coin huge money is invested in particular places to boast tourism. Money is invested to preserve the local heritage sites, to reframe the infrastructure and to provide better facilities to the localities, this also creates better career opportunities educational enchantment and henceforth a better life. This can be explained as to how tourism is useful for the local people.

Culture and tourism can also be categorised as two sites of the same coin while one being incomplete without the other. Both of them equally influences each other and is completely necessary for each other. While in this fast-moving world where there are different kinds of tourism evolving such as recession tourism, war tourism etc the impacts of culture on tourism is wide and hard to explain at the same time. Visiting places that leaves one speechless and astonished is why people would want to travel.

Taking the example of our very own Rajasthan the state is very well known for its culture. Go to any part of the state and one would be amazed by their cultural inheritance. According to sources every third foreign tourist visiting India also travels to Rajasthan this is because of the great history the state has to tell. The palaces of Jaipur, lakes of Udaipur and the desert forts of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer can be also called the cultural heart of the country. It is not that the country has not much to offer but it's always culture that draws the attention of the people and captures their heart and soul. Rajasthan has everything related to culture that could leave people wondering what took them so late to visit the place. The great history of the palaces the earlier lives of the king why certain kind of beliefs and also why certain things are superior to the others always seems interesting.

It becomes almost impossible to separate culture and tourism, culture is something inbuilt in each one of us and the desire to move out and explore new destinations just add to it.

So maybe, next time when you are travelling, keep a point to go forward and bring out the cultural aspect to it?
