"What Will People Say? "- An Important Topic In Today's World !!

In today's world where there are many things to worry about, we always worry about “What will people say?”(" Log Kya Kahenge?").

There are many instances I have seen where people tend to satisfy others feelings keeping their emotions aside. What is this society ? Who are these people who can judge us ? Why do we give them a chance to judge us ? Even if they do, why are we bothered so much about them ?

I always believe people should start to live for themselves. We are not here to gain the appreciations from people. Sometimes in the process of making others happy we often forget to make ourselves happy. Happiness lies within us. If we give the key to our happiness in others hands we can never be happy.

I can share my personal story here. We had a big loss of losing my beloved father two months back. It definitely was an irreplaceable loss. Yet we are battling hard to get through it. My mom has literally stopped being herself. She thinks twice to laugh in front of others, speak loudly , take pictures, travel outside or use phone in front of others. These things are difficult for her only because she believes people may judge her for living happily as these “so-called” people wants her living her life looking sad, dull , not lively and always at home. She has all the rights to live and laugh. My father himself won't wish to see her that way. This is when I feel it's high time people start bothering less about what others will say and focus on what can make them happy.

I have started telling my mom not to think about society and just follow what her heart tells. I really wish she lives happily. We are told from our childhood to dress properly( people may judge your character), don't talk more with boys/girls (people may think you are in a relationship with that boy/girl), girls should learn cooking (In-laws may judge your mother if you don't know cooking), don't post pictures with your male bestfriend( people will definitely think she will marry that guy). These are just a few which I have heard , there will be many more. This mindset needs to stop. Every human has the right to choose how they want their life to be.

I have recently heard a quote in an interview of Sadhguru Ji - “If somebody else can decide what can happen within you right now - isn't this the ultimate slavery ? ” This should be the mindset every individual should be having.

Thank you for reading!! Have a good day.
