Hi guys, Welcome to my blog. In this blog, I am sharing information about graphic design. Nowadays we are witnessing everything around us is digitalizing. Most of the people are interested in promoting their business through social media. The requirement of promoting the product or service to the audience should be creative. There comes the requirement of Graphic Design. Graphic Design is the art of communicating the world through visuals. So, a Graphic Designer is responsible for attracting potential customers or audience through visual communication. 

What is the role of a graphic designer?

  1. Creating Brand awareness for a company (logos, brochures, business cards, etc.,)

2.    Product Packaging

3.    Creating designs for books, magazines, etc.,

4.    Creating commercials

What are the softwares used for graphic design?

To create best enhanced designs a designer use Adobe Creative Suite. There are many design software under Adobe but if a person can master these three softwares then he/she can become a graphic designer.

Adobe Illustrator: To create visual illustrations, logos, vector graphics, etc.,

Adobe Photoshop: To create Social media posts, Image manipulation, Commercials, etc.,

Adobe Indesign: To create magazines, books, etc.,

Adobe Lightroom and After Effects are used to provide perfect light and motion to the graphics.

These are paid softwares, but a person can use a free 7-15 days trial version.

Affinity is another paid software used for graphic design.

Here are a few free software that are substitutes for Adobe and Affinity

Alison is one of the apps where you can get a graphic design course free of cost but have to pay for the certificate after course completion.

Graphic Design School by Thames & Hudson is a foundation course book for Graphic Designers. It has theoretical concepts like Colour theory, Typography, Fundamental concepts of composition, etc.,

There is no age limit to study graphic design. Anyone interested in arts can study this course.

Students who want to acquire a degree can do bachelors in Graphic Design.  They can directly approach the college/Institute for Admission or they can take the CUET entrance test conducted by the NTA every year.
