Our India is a country where women are treated as form of goddess “Shakti”. From ancient times to modern age the behavior of society towards women changed to some extent. In olden days, women were bounded to home and kitchen they don’t know what’s happening in outside world. They are encouraged to accomplish only household works and satisfy their families. Women in previous centuries undergone through many social evil practices like child marriage, sati, no female education, devadasi system. Some of the social reformers put an end to these evil practices.

Slowly Indian society started noticing importance of education to the girl child. Our Indian government introduced different schemes to support the education. Now women in India are treated equal as men. They are moving forward in every field. From Home maker to Politicians, Sports Persons, Entrepreneurs, CEOs, Jobholders women are making their way in this society.

These are the some of the achievements achieved by our Indian Women.

  • Rani Rudhrama Devi ruled Kakatiya Kingdom in a effective way and treated her citizens as her children.
  • Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai who became ruler of Jhansi after her husband fought many battles against britishers and won many of them.
  • Draupadi Murmu who is a tribal leader became our second president of India. She won against her opponent Yashwant Singha.
  • Bhagwan Devi Dagar is Haryana’s Gem. She achieved many awards and rewards as an athlete at the age of 94.
  • Captain Abilasha Barak is the first woman officer to join the Army aviation corps as a Combat aviator on May 25, 2022.
  • Manipur's diamond, Linthoi Chanambam won the first ever gold medal in a world championship in judo. In her interview she expressed her fond for combat sports.
  • During pandemic, every thing became digital. Even classes are conducted online. At that time Dr Manjula Pooja Shroff launched a free education platform called eKal academy. It is open for all ages, and the courses are self paced.

Even though the world is progressing towards women empowerment, we are still facing some issues like infanticide, domestic violence. Government imposed certain laws and orders  in-order to lessen these crimes but they are still prevailing in our society. These will come to an end only if people change their mindset. Peace will be restored in the society if there is a mutual respect among people irrespective of gender.
