On 7th of April I found myself in office working just like any normal day . When it was approaching lunch time I felt a bit tired and wanted to sleep. During lunchtime I went home , had lunch and lied down for few minutes thinking everything will be alright once I take a power nap.
Unfortunately my power nap lasted for almost 2 hrs. I got fever and chills . After waking up I contacted my doctor friend. He gave few pills and told not to worry.
That night I hoped that it will be normal fever and will go in few days. But one thing was constantly worrying me , never during any of my previous fevers was there any leg pain. This time there was. It was then I decided to get tested the next day.
On the next morning I isolated myself in another room and got RTPCR test done at home . Fever was still persisting . It would go after you had Paracetamol and would return back after few hours. It reached 102 . At this moment it had fever and bit weakness. Still I was confident I wont test positive for covid as I take all the precautions necessary, I wore mask all the time and maintained social distance . What more was needed !
The next day dawned and I would have never thought that it was the one which would change my life entirely . On my mobile I got the RTPCR report and it said POSITIVE!
The avalanche of emotions I experienced at that moment could not be described in words. I didn't knew what to do. I was both scared and worried . I took deep breaths and controlled myself . What to do now , what to do????
In that state of confusion almost one hour had gone. I had not even informed my wife about it. I contacted my doctor and informed him about it. He suggested to go for CT scan and do some blood tests. He gave some medicines and told to inform him once scan and blood reports come. I was scared. Never had I thought there would be a need for me to do CT scan.
At this time my wife came near the door to check on me. I informed her not to come near And i had tested positive . She didn't believe me ,she thought I was joking. It happened that few weeks ago I had tested negative. Once I shared her the report she was convinced and instantly was worried about my health.
It was an emotion filled day. Ihad to inform everyone about being positive for COVID and everyone was sharing their ideas about what to do and not. I would never ever forget that day. It was the one which changed everything!
