Today afternoon I was chatting with my younger brother and came to know about TVF Aspirants . He suggested me to watch it considering I too have gone through similar experience of being in Old Rajender Nagar .
Aspirants is a story about UPSC aspirants , about their life in old rajender nagar , challenges of UPSC and a story of their friendship. Well, honestly speaking, my expectations from the series were too high but unfortunately the first 3 episodes have not met them . The biggest drawback I feel is the the slowness of the script. Somehow the episodes feel lengthy . There are few very good scenes . I especially liked the scene on the terrace between Sandeep Bhaiya and Abhilash .
The acting of Sunny Hinduja as Sandeep is a must watch . There is a sense of calmness about his presence on screen. Another person who has performed well is actor Abhilash Thapliyal playing the role of SK. The other actors have done well but nothing outstanding in the first three episodes . The story is unfolding slowly may be it will pick up speed in remaining episodes .
One major irritation of sorts while watching is the continuous promotion of Unacedemy. The characters are promoting Unacedemy even inside the series .
First episode is about the lead character Abhilash coming to Old Rajender Nagar to prepare for his last attempt of UPSC. It's about his initial struggles with choosing an optional subject .
The second episode is about the dichotomy Abhilash faces whether to stick to coaching or not especially when he knows the teacher teaching him has himself poor record of clearing UPSC .
And the third episode is about having a positive approach . I have not completed the entire episode yet but nothing appealing about it.
I will be completing the web series shortly and will write a complete review. But as of now it's a one time watch .
The response the series garnered is amazing with more than 18million YouTube views on the first video. So if you are interested in having a sneak peak into the lives of UPSC aspirants the series is for you.
I think every UPSC aspirant has his own story to tell ,own experience to share . TVF Aspirants has tried to show us some aspects of it . The fact that webseries are being made on such real life issues is wonderful to see , just the excessive promotion of promoters is off-putting. For the first three episodes I would like to give three stars out of five.
