India is a vast country that is full of varied heritages cultures, religions, and emotions. After getting independence in 1945, India has developed a lot, and right now it’s is known to be the 2nd most populated country in the world. But this country also has some loopholes which need to be taken care of and for a fact, the loopholes are always taken into consideration, it’s just that this is taking a bit of time and lots of struggles.

LGBTQIA+ is an acronym that has always been there present in our society and right now doesn’t need an introduction. Before independence, people never spotlight this subject but now that it’s coming under the spotlight, people are thinking about ignoring this. Some people think that this might be a disease that needs to be a cure but in reality, it’s not. It is something that needs to be accepted with open arms and hearts. The constitution of India believes to provide equal rights and liberty to everyone. But now when people are coming out of the closet, they face inequality, discrimination, and whatnot. People make them feel embarrassed about what they really are. Ignoring LGBTQIA+ will only take us to a dead end. And dead ends are not what people of this community want. They want to live and love. They don’t want to feel abandoned. They want to be part of society like other people.  “INDIA IS A COUNTRY AND ALL INDIANS ARE MY BROTHER AND SISTER”, they want to be a part of this family. Is this too much to ask for?

Our cultures and heritage have always supported the thought of getting married. Before 1945 girls of 4-5yrs were forced to get married but then the thought developed a bit and girls were allowed to get some education and then marry a wealthy man and make babies and handle family chores. And then women of this country got a broad mindset and they want to be independent and didn’t want to wait for a wealthy man, they wanted to be the wealthy woman. And after that, if they think of settling down, they find a partner for themselves and get married. But most importantly people need to know WHAT IS MARRIAGE? Marriage is not something where u bring two individuals and asks them to marry and after that, u declare them as beloved husband and wife. This is not how it is done. Marriage is done because love and sexual attraction exist. If two individuals are in love and somewhere are sexually attracted towards each other, they are supposed to get married. Marriage is performed between souls not between individuals. And as quoted in Bhagavad Gita, Souls have no gender. And if souls have no gender then WHY people of the LGBTQIA+ community aren’t allowed to married? It took years to finally remove the tagline as “ILLEGAL” from the gay people for having same-sex relationships and normalize having same-sex relationships. There’s still a long path to complete for the LGBTQIA+ community to get legalese the right of getting married. It is going to be a long way and the road is going to be full of pebbles. Sex is usually taboo in society. People don’t really talk about it as always but their main concern is “HOW WILL YOU MAKE BABIES?” Those people who are concerned about this need to learn that medical science is growing every day every second. There is nothing in this world that exists where medical science can’t be of any use.  INDIA is family. We have to be there for everyone. We need to reach out to every individual. If we can normalize same-sex relationships then we can also legally sam- sex marriage and then we can also find a solution for making babies. We can try and try and try. But the last thing we can do is not supporting and accepting the LGBTQIA+ community. They are not different or inferior from us. They are just special in their own way.
