Dear readers today I will discuss the great imaging power of our human brain, which can clearly detect the positioning of an individual in the complex surrounding world, constantly even in sleep.
The detailed structure of our brain 🧠, these portions link our thoughts to particular names, even the sense of distance, or the nature of some perfume; when these parts are healthy, they can prevent serious diseases like the Alzheimer's ailment also.
Professor May-Britt Moser won the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine in 2014 for the invention of cells that help to track positioning systems in the animal brains. These are grid cells or a type of neuron within the entorhinal cortex, which fires at regular intervals, when an animal traverses an open area or moves about, permitting it to understand it's position in space, by collecting integrated information about the position of location, distance and direction. This is the mapping system in the brain. This activity goes on constantly in a 3D manner, even when you are in a field or a complex orientation of buildings, or when you are asleep also this mapping systems work with neuro pixels technology constantly. Therefore it is recommended we do not smoke, but, keep our brains airy, by regular physical exercise, be calm, and staying in a meditative state create a fresh breathing technique to keep the brain at it's best, so that the mapping is very effectively utilized in understanding locations, etc.
A firing field of the grid cells, the overlapping shows the position of the maximum results. Our Grid cells evolve spatial message, our brain then attaches it to the environment, this activity continues till we get distinct information of ones orientation. Now I will explain the searching of a particular location. Suppose you move around some complex but similar road orientation, every time coming to some similar turns and bends, you get puzzled and lost. But, if, you pay attention to some stable yet, different and distinct landmarks chronologically one after the another, your path becomes clear and you navigate better. At these landmarks, your brain fires in neurons creating the images above and this helps us understand the self-motion generated metrics, even at times integrated speed and direction to return to the origin or clear picture of the map or your path.
It is very interesting to know that some cells are continuously born in the hippocampus even when we are grown-ups or adults, but to keep these rebirths and communications between cells going; we need to use our brains instead of relying on navigation GPS all the time. Going out in new locations and searching out orientations at times by having just a distance walk is very important and helpful, to keep the brains active in sense of grid mapping.
In Alzheimer's disease, the direction causing navigation system is hampered when cells in brain expire, and we are lost. This is also true in case of exams when we get blank out and forget some incidents as step by step memorised, because the link to such chains of thoughts gets erased due to the expiry of some cells in the cortex. Meditations and breathing exercises help to release such stresses. But, proper sleep is also essential for the best functioning of the cerebral cortex. Smoking is very harmful to the functioning of the complex brain, and regular physical activity is needed to keep the brain fresh and active.
