Look at the handsome appearance of Lord Ganesha.
Once Mata Parvati was applying turmeric paste as cosmetics during a bath and also removing the application of turmeric paste in a tray and suddenly made an effigy of a small child and gave it life, and thus Ganesha was born. Then Mata Parvati ordered Ganesha to stay at the gate of the house and asked to keep a watch so that nobody enters the rooms because Mata will be busy in her bath. But, suddenly her husband Mahadev returned and wanted to go inside the house, but, was stopped by Ganesha at the gate, describing the order of his Mata, not allowing anybody inside during this time. A big tussle arose between the two, when ultimately annoyed by the opposition of small Ganesha, Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesha by his Trishul. Now, Mata Parvati came out hearing the turmoil and saw Ganesha's body lying without his head. She cried loud in despair, and explained to the Lord about the appearance of Ganesha, and begged him to bring the boy to life. But, Mahadev announced that the action was performed in great anguish with his Trishul, but, one option is open if anybody brings the head of any creature lying on the ground in the north direction then saving the child is possible. Everybody went in all directions but all in vain, then Garuda went deep in the north direction and found a small elephant 🐘 lying on back pointing north direction. The big Eagle 🦅 brought this elephant's head, when Lord Bhole Nath fixed the head in Ganesha's body and the boy came to life. But, Mata Parvati was sad at the appearance of Ganesha, when there was an announcement that whenever any disciple will go to worship any God or Goddess in this world 🌎 it would be required to worship Ganesha at the start of any kind of puja to perform, so that Ganesha will be remembered at the start all the time before the occurrence of any kind of pujas. Then Mata Parvati was relieved and kissed Ganesha once again.
Look at the big head of Ganesha, it is the epitome of pure consciousness and wisdom.
In Kailash, Shiva and Parvati through a challenge to the two brothers Ganesha and Kartikeya that whoever encircles the world thrice and comes to their parents feet first will be bestowed upon with the gift of wisdom. Kartikeya went out on his vehicle the beautiful peacock 🦚 and started to circle the world. But, Ganesha thought for his vehicle, alas, the small mouse 🐀 with small feet merely covering any significant distance so that he can compete with his brother in the race. Then when Kartikeya almost covered twice the world, Ganesha went straight and circumambulated his parents thrice, because he said that they were the cause of this universe, and the universe existed within them. Thus, saying he falls to their feet. This way Ganesha receives the fruit of wisdom from his parents. The story shows us the power of wisdom is greater than the power of action. Also, teaches us to respect and value our parents for whom we can see the world as it is today.
The big head of Ganesha symbolizes the pure consciousness which is immeasurable and inconceivable. Wisdom cannot be measured it gathers the quality of infinity; it can neither be conceived it can only be spread. The axe 🪓 and the chakra symbolizes disconnection from the greed and lusture. The blessings is in the path of liberty and wisdom. The big ears are to listen to more and small mouth to say and consume less. The vehicle of the mouse to ride the desire of wants within one's control. The small eyes to focus and concentrate on the object of learning. The huge belly digests all matters and leaves it obstacle free. The flexible trunk adjusts the circumstances to obtain maximum possibility of luck 🎲 everytime.
