Once upon a time, there was a mosquito  named Meeto, who was mischievous and boastful. One day, Meeto had absolutely no work to do. To beat her boredom, she decided to fly all through the forest, till she found someone to chatter away with, happily.

Flying here and there, Meeto finally reached a pond, where she found Iguana, a huge Lizard whiling away his time under the shady trees. "He seems to be as bored and as free as me,"thought meeto changing the direction of her flight towards the lizard.

    She flew up to him and said,"Hi dear friend!Seems you too are bored just like me?"Iguana,who was lost in  his thoughts, opened his eyes and looked at meeto disinterestedly.He was in no mood to strike a conversation with any one that day.Ignoring the indifferent expression on Iguana's face,Meeto started her senseless talk right away.

       She said,"Do you know my friend!I am just coming from a field where I saw a farmer digging potatoes.You won't believe it if I say that those potatoes were as big as me "Now,Iguana, who was already irritated by Meeto's presence,sharply turned his head and yelled,"you fool!Do you know how big a potato is?What is your size when compared to a potato?"

  He was so angry that he also snapped,"I would rather be deaf than hear such nonsense from a tiny mosquito like you.Leave me alone and never dare to bother me again."

   Seeing that Meeto was still very much there,Iguana plucked two twigs from the nearby tree and stuffed his ears with those twigs in order to avoid listening to Meeto's nonsense anymore.The mosquito flew away from there in search of a friendlier friend.

  Just as Iguana settled again with twigs in its ears,a python, who  was his friend, passed by that way. On seeing Iguana,he stopped in front of him and greeted him with a big,pleasant 'hello'. But as Iguana sat there with closed eyes and blocked ears,he could neither see the python not hear him greet.

    The python waited for a while for his friend to respond but there was none.Moreover,he saw that there was an annoyed look on his face."My friend is angry today.I better move out of his sight."The python mumbled and swiftly left that place.

   Confused why his friend was so angry and also scared that the reason for his anger was him,the python accidentally slithered away into a rabbit holenearby.The Rabbit who was having his midday meal in his little burrow was at once startled to see a huge python before him.

    Shrieking with fear,the Rabbit quickly jumped out of his burrow and ran away from there.He ran fast here and there till he reached a place where he thought was safe to stop for a while.When the Rabbit was running around,a crow saw its plight and suspected big danger.With no time to clarify from the escaping Rabbit,the crow

 lost its senses and started cawing aloud indicating danger.

      Now,it was not the end of all.A monkey who heard the crow's caw was equally alarmed.jumping from one branch to another and from one tree to another,the monkey raised alarm by shrieking at the top of his voice.While doing so,the monkey had not observed a branch of a tree that was weak and about to break.

    As soon as the monkey's weight fell on it,the branch went crashing down with a loud sound and what more?

   The monkey fell into an owl's nest killing

One little owlet.When the owl returned home after fetching some food for her babies it was shocked to see one of them dead.Overcome by grief,the owl stayed in 

Its nest the entire night and did nothing but cry and cry.The owl stopped hooting too. The sun,who always waited for the Owl's hoot to rise in the morning,did not rise that 

Following day thinking that it was still night.

  The Lion, the king of the forest, was shocked at the darkness that surrounded the entire forest.When he came to know that the sun had not risen because of the owl,he summoned all the animals to his chamber and asked the owl why she hadn't woken the sun.Wailing, the owl replied,"Sir! The monkey had killed my baby.I was in no mood to awaken the Sun today."

  The Lion then turned to the monkey and asked, "Monkey!Why have you killed the Owlet?" Bowing to the lion, the monkey replied,"Oh King!The crow cawed aloud and scared me out of my wits.Thinking that some disaster was to follow,I jumped from one tree to another and accidentally fell on the Owl's nest."

  When the blame was put on the crow,the lion asked the crow to explain.Trembling with fear,the crow said,"Sir!I am being blamed for no fault of mine.I saw the rabbit running away from its burrow hurriedly.Thinking that something was terribly wrong.I  cawed aloud to alert everyone."

  Highly confused with the chain of events the lion summoned the rabbit and asked him to explain the reason for his panic.The rabbit humbly replied, "Sir! I was having my midday lunch in my burrow,when the python entered it,scaring me away."Feeling no necessity of asking the phyton to explain,the lion turned towards the python and awaited his explanation.

  Bowing to the lion,the python said,"Oh king!I was taking a stroll near the pond as usual when I noticed my friend, Iguana there.though I greeted him,he never bothered to reply and I also noticed an angered look on his face.Worried that he might harm me,I quickly ran into the Rabbit's burrow."

   Now,the lizard,who did not even know that the python greeted him,was also present there but he still had the twigs in his ears.though he was present at the meeting,he hadn't heard anything that was

going on there.Noticing that he had twigs in his ears,the lion pulled them out and asked,"My dear Iguana,why have you not greeted the python and why were you angry? Do you even know how much trouble you caused?"

   Highly surprised to hear the chain of events from the lion, Iguana said,"Oh God!I haven't even heard the python greet me."As he said so.Iguana suddenly remembered that he blocked his ears with twigs due to the mosquito's blabbering and said,"king! It was the mosquito who was responsible for all this.She came in the morning to me and irritated me with her senseless talk.I had to block my ear,and close my eyes to keep away from her.That's why I was angry too."

  When Owl heard that the real culprit was found,she hooted aloud causing the Sun to rise.Though the animals cheered that the problem was solved,the lion said,"The mosquito has to be punished for causing such a big trouble with her nonsense.Get her to me at once." All the animals went around here and there checking for the mosquito.But Meeto who was listening to the whole conversation secretly,felt too guilty and scared to face them.Since then 

Meeto conversation face to face neither with the animals nor with men.

 Since she can't keep herself from staying quiet too,ever since,the mosquito had been guiltily buzzing in everyone's ears asking them,"Zzzzzzzzzzzz…..

Zzzzz…Is everyone still angry with me?"

 Alas!What does she get in reply to her buzz each time?A big ,tight slap!
