Hello guys, Today I am going to share some information about my favorite pet love birds. They are amazing cute little creatures.
Love birds are considered to belong to small parrot species. They are native to sub-saharan Africa with only one species the grey-headed one originating from madagascar.
Love birds are the smallest species with a size range of 5 to 6.5 inches. Most of these birds are colourful, Having short tail feathers and weighing 42 to 60 grams. The female is slightly larger than it's male. They are small and stocky as you can see for their lifespan average from 10 to 20 years.
Love birds are known for forming attentive loving bond with only one mate. Bond with only one mate monogamous marriage engenders social stability. However it also means that separation or death of a partner would result in erratic behavior similar to depression and leads to death.
In the wild bird is known as a cavity dweller making homes in holes found in rocks, trees or shrubs. They are very affectionate with the owner. They tries to steal the owners attention. Properly trained these birds exhibit a high level of Intelligence from listening to speach to whistling.
The love birds love to play with toys. So they absolutely like noise making toys like bells, wooden toys Travel toys. They also like to play with swings, ladder, and bridges toys. Before purchasing a toy for your birds make sure it doesn't hurt your birds. Generaly wooden toys are best for them but before purchasing make sure the edges of the toys are not very sharp. The love birds are usually very bold active inquisitive playful and curious creatures. When you watch them they make your mind completely relax. They also make your soul peaceful.
A balanced diet is more important for a healthy love bird. They eat sweet corns, coriander leaves, mint leaves, spinach, sunflower seeds, finger millets, boiled egg, Fresh fruits and vegetables.
The female will lay approximately 5 eggs, however, the clutch size might range from 3 to 8 eggs. The egg hatch after 22 to 25 days of incubation, with 75 to 80 percent of the egg hatching.
