ABOUT CARNIVOROUS PLANT

The plants are called animal eating plants, the plants are deriving nutrients from animals, protozoans, typically insects. The carnivorous plants are called legends of man heating flora. Man eating plants that catch and heat small animals and insects.

which are the carnivorous plants/insectivorous plants

  1. Nepenthes
  2. Cepalotusdrosophyllum
  3. Drosera
  4. Sarracenia
  5. Pitfall traps
  6. Corpse flower

 All plants can produce their own food using photosynthesis, cycling of oxygen replacing by removing of carbon dioxide, from the air, water and direct sunlight, plants also needs some minerals, that are directly taken from soil 

1. Nepnthes

The Nepenthes also knows as pitcher plants are the largest known carnivorous plants yet discovered. the plants are found in southeast Asia; vines can grown as much as 50 feet in length. The main victims include small frogs and insects, but occasional rat can be found digesting with in the nepenthes, the plant is not a threat to humans,humans are certainly a threat to it.

2.Cepalotusdrosophyllum

 The Drosophyllum is having a genus of carnivorous plant contains the single species, this plant have woody steams at the base, short, simple branched. The flowers are on the top, corymbiform and bear five 20-30 mm yellow petals, five carpels,5 styles. Plants are there in southwest Spain and northern morocco.

3. Drosera

The Drosera is one of the carnivorous plants found in tropical regions worldwide. A plant can be classified as carnivorous if it attracted and kills animal life. All these plants absorb nutrients either through their roots and leaves. the main tools are their abilities to attract insects, capture them, kill them and digest them finally absorb the nutrients. The drosera is a tiny plant, naturally found along the muddy soil.

4. Sarracenia plants

sarracenia is a genus have 8 to 11 species of north america pitcher plants. The plants attract its insect prey with secretion from extrafloral nectaries on lip of the pitches leaves as well as a combination of the leaves. Slippery footing at the pitchers rim, cause insects to fall inside, where they die are digested by the plants with pro teases and other enzymes.

5. Corpse flower

The corpse flower is in bloom at 9 feet tall it dwarfs a mam and gives off an odor that people describe as a mix of a rotting corpse and excrement, the flower has been to grow as much as 4 inches in single day. There is a plant's strong odor. The smell, color and even temperature of corpse flower.
