He stands at the roof and feels the wind blowing around him, stray lights blinking in the distance. Taking a deep breath, he feels the calmness and serenity around him. He smiles and plugs in his earphones, the rustling of the leaves replaced by Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved. As the music flooded in, he remembered her face. He remembered her eyes, her lips, her hair, her touch. Everything. He remembered everything. Right down to the tattoo on her hip and the freckles on her bareback. He remembered pushing her against the wall, kissing her till she gasped for breath. He remembered waking up and looking into her eyes, at her smile. And then it rushed in. The emptiness in his space. The void in his heart. The tragic car crash had crushed his hopes, his dreams, his life. She was his biggest support system, her constant companion and his best friend. He loved her like nobody else. He couldn't bear with the fact that she is not there with him anymore and he realized that he lost everything from his life as she was the only reason for him to live.

It's been a week now since he watched the coffin touch the wet earth. He looks up at the sky, at the stars and remembers how she loved stargazing and the way she used to hold his hand and watched the night sky together. The memories he had with her was priceless, and it used to haunt him like hell. He realized that life is full of surprises and he had to accept the event that had happened because he knew someday or the other, a person has to leave this world.

Well, tonight he was looking for that one star that shone brighter than the cold fire burning inside him. He sighs and takes off his earphones and once again, the sound of rustling leaves and the blowing wind of the sea engulfs him. He gets lost in a different world where he could just see her. Yes, only her. He starts to count down for his death knell, trembling in fear and frustration and thinking about what he lost. He forgets about his friends, family and everything else in that heat of the moment. He smiles sadly and looks down at the cars passing by, oblivious of the heart-wrenching pain he was trapped in.

Then he jumped.
