Here's a way to make beautiful tribal mask - a decorative piece at home with some homie things.

All you need is-  

Cardboard (you can use cardboard from any packing boxes)

Some napkin papers

Glue 

Paint colours

Air dry clay (you can replace it with wheat flour make it into a tight dough)

Some beads 

Scissors

Thread and needle

Pencil 

How to make it 

1. Draw the desired shape or the shape as shown in below picture of mask on cardboard and cut it out (2 pieces of same size) and paste them together to make it thick.
2. Take a bowl, pour some water and glue in it, mix it well.
3. Apply the glue mixture on your mask and paste tissue papers on it layer by layer. Paste at least 7 layers and let it dry.
4. Now take the clay/dough. Make the facial features of mask like eyes, eyebrow, nose, lips, hair/turbans, moustache (if male face), a bindi and nose ring (if female).
5. Make a few linings in those features like hairs, brows, moustache, and a circle on the eye to give it a perfect look.
6. Now paint your mask with brows black, eyes with black and white, lips red, and if there are any ornaments- paint it with gold or silver colour, and add different bright colours to the remaining part and let it get dry.
7. With the help of needle and thread make a hole at the place of ear and add beads there to make earrings.

And it's ready.

My experience:

I tried it in this lockdown period and involved my younger brother with me. We enjoyed it and spent a good quality time together but my brother is quite impatient. Because the mask doesn't look as we desired at the initial stage, my brother gets very impatient and was about to quit it.

Therefore, I would like to tell you all that all you need is patience while doing it. Every work has its process, just be hopeful for the outcome and do your work with positive attitude.
