Back in the days, were we were free to move, little did we know that there will come a time, where FREEDOM would mean just enjoying simple pleasures of life. Our lives were moving fast, relationships were becoming fragile, there was everything but time to enjoy those things. 

Coronavirus rose from an unknown source and swept people into the abyss of death and despair. We heard news one day of a deadly disease, rising numbers and spreading like wild fire and a few days later, life comes to a halt and we learn a new word LOCKDOWN. 

The Lockdown 2020, was the pause button in our lives. We have all gone through our share of loss, despair, depression and anxiety. When things got better, came the catastrophic second wave with the hope of vaccines. 

Coronavirus, has jostled the World Economy, GDP, Healthcare system and humanity as a whole. We have often heard stories of war and riots during our freedom struggle, if we survive this, our grandchildren will hear stories of this time that we are going through. 

The world has seen a lot of wars, but this war is all about survival. We have again learnt the basics of livelihood. It has taught us how to live, cut out the extra materialistic joys of life and concentrate on the basics of survival. The pause button has helped us look into ourselves and our relationships, our children don't complain of not getting enough time together. 

There are lots of families that have been torn apart by this virus. One moment we cry and the other moment we have to pick up the pieces and keep fighting the fight for survival. 

The era has also given rise to awareness. Awareness of investment. Awareness to examine and evaluate our necessities and luxuries. Investments has gone up. People have started taking the market seriously. We have seen the rise of cryptocurrency. Digital payment platforms have seen a need to implement this to go cashless and avoid physical contacts, people who would remotely use this, are been seen using these platforms. Digital marketers and digital content creators are seriously looked upon. Online earning platforms have seen surge in traffic as well. People are taking their health seriously. Vaccines could be rolled out in a miraculous short period of time.  

The biggest losers in this whole turmoil are the children. They are losing precious years of friendship and games in a cell called home. With online studies, the school life memories are diminished to laptops screen and mobile screens. The rise of domestic crimes and violence have taken away their solace from them. Beautiful years of life when memories are made, green fields are empty and schools have become barren. 

The World is fighting very hard in this war. In this war, the soldiers are guarding the borders, doctors are taking the battlefront from the hospitals, civilians are fighting to stay alive and children are sacrificing their childhood. The unsung heroes who are fighting and lost,  the universe is crying for a change. 

We are inching towards normal life and being pushed back far away. 

We cannot undo that has been done. We do not have anyone to blame specifically. We have to keep the fight for survival going till dawn.

 Come, lets pledge to live by the joys we found and pray for the ones we lost on our way.

Someday, we will breathe again and someday life will be beautiful again and this will also be over some day.
