Day 44
Length : 16 mm & weight : 0.5 grams
- Changes in the brain - The brain connects with the nervous system and hormones producing glands begin to develop.
Day 60
Length - 3 cm & weight - 3 grams
- The brain and nervous system develops rapidly.
- All essential internal organ begins to develop.
- Small buds that will go to form the arms and legs appear.
3 Month
Length - 10 cm & weight - 45 grams
- The foetus's genitals begin to appear but still cannot be distinguished as being male or female.
- The cord is developed so that the baby can move around without any risk.
- Hands already have fully developed fingers. They have fingernails, and the shape of human extremities.
- The eyes are completely formed.
- The head is still disproportionately large in relation to the body. It represents a third of length of the foetus's body.
4 month
Length - 15 cm & weight - 150 grams
- Sex development - Foetus begins to reveal the differences in the urogenital system.
- Taste buds are developed at this stage although remain inactive.
- At this stage, heart beats at the mother's heart rate and number of heartbeats per minute are 160.
- Cartilage begin to change into calcified bones.
- Legs grow rapidly and are longer than the arms.
- The tiny bones in the ear begin to harden and the foetus can sense its mother's voice and heartbeat.
- The mother can sense the foetus's first movements.
5 Month
Length - 20 cm & weight - 500 grams
- The foetus movements are more obvious and intense and are perceptible to the touch.
- Spinal cord begins to develop in the foetus.
- Eyes, mouth, nose and ears are almost completely formed and head develops more actively.
- Internal organs are in a maturing stage and most are already formed. However, the lungs and digestive system are not yet complete.
6 month
Length - 25 cm & weight - 1 kilograms
- The ears exhibit their peak development. The foetus is sensitive to sounds outside the uterus and can hear very loud sounds.
- First lines appear on palms. Fingers can be seen.
- Foetus can distinguish different flavours.
- Feets are defined and joints are developed. Baby kicks with rapid movements.
7 month
Length - 30 cm & weight - 1.5 kilograms
- Strengthening and calcification of bones begins. It's body needs more nutrients.
- Baby can open and close its hands as well as mouth, sticks out its tongue and can even suck its thumb.
- The organs are completely formed.
8 month
Length - 35 cm & weight - 2.5 kilograms
- Limbs become chubby.
- Except for the lungs, the organs are fully functional.
Birth is imminent, and before the month is finished, most foetuses assume a head-down position.
