Love is what always stays, along with the bittersweet memories even when the person you feel that for leaves. It is of all kinds, from fierce to sweet, demanding to forgiving, silent to loud and I have experienced it all.

But if someone were to ask me about the love that has made me feel the most alive, I would say my love for Chandigarh, the city that has watched me grow and always welcomed me with nothing but warmth.

It never left my side even when I left it to discover the beauty of others. It has always been like that one best friend who celebrates our every win and gives a shoulder to cry on whenever needed.

It is, what everyone calls - the city beautiful and I am not surprised that it's beauty has not gone unnoticed by even those who have only seen it in photos, for it carries the freshness of the bud that has recently bloomed into a flower.

When I was ten and first met it, it was there holding flowers on the sidetracks and formed a rainbow in the sky to make me feel welcomed in the place where I knew nobody.

There are some parts of it like sectors 17, 15 and 8 that always stay crowded, from young rowdy teenagers to sweet couples in love, from kids jumping up and down for balloons and ice creams to oldies giggling and taking a walk together. It is a city of young and old, love and richness.

From a kid exploring it's wonders like Dora, the explorer, I can never get tired of talking about my three most favorite places, sukhna lake, rose garden and rock garden.

Sukhna lake is a perfect heaven for people who are in love, because the lake calms us down and always finds a way to make us smile even in the crowd of thousands of people. It has watched me falling in love with my beloved and how my lips automatically curl into a shy smile every time he holds my hand.

Rose garden is yet another place to remind us that when we break, in order to grow, we bloom into our most beautiful self. It feels like it has kept a rose for everyone who comes there, be it someone in love or someone heartbroken.
