Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing good. Well well! Seeing the title, you must have understood that today I am going to talk about my city Rishikesh. Yay!
It's been 15 years since I lived in Rishikesh. I love everything about this place, be it the distinguished culture here or the places to visit or the serene views of the mountains and the river Ganga and many more. Because the practice like Yoga was originated in Rishikesh, hence it is referred as βYoga capital of the worldβ or βYognagriβ. People from all over the world come here to find peace through yoga and meditation. This holy place is full of positive and spiritual energy.
Well, there are various places to visit and rituals to be a part of but some of them I like more. They are :
Whenever I feel low or overwhelming, I prefer to attend Ganga Aarti at Triveni ghat. I feel so relieved to go there and see the Aarti. Wow! The sound of the Sacred Ganga river flowing beside, the echoes of chants and the soothing Aarti, all these together give me heavenly feeling. (Aah! I even imagined all this while typing)
The mesmerizing views of nature while roaming in and around Marine drive and Chilla makes me feel connected to the nature. It's just blissful being around the river, mountains and greenery. I go there very often for morning walk with my friends or cousins.
Both the pilgrimage sites are quite popular among the tourists visiting Rishikesh. There are many temples and hermitages around. During my school days, me and my friends used to visit there very frequently. But I haven't gone there for a long time. π¬
There is a short trek to climb which is followed by a breathtaking view of the Neer waterfall. Diving in the chilled water of the fall is always a thrilling experience for me. I haven't been there too for a long time. Last time went with my school friends.
Apart from these, there are several other places who have religious connotations like Beatles' aashram, Parmarth Niketan, Gita Ashram, Tera Manzil temple, and many holy temples.
Rishikesh is also well known for various adventure activities like - Rafting, camping, trekking, bunjee jumping, and many more. Shivpuri, a place near Rishikesh, is an adventure hub for such activities.
Never miss a beautiful experience of visiting here in your life. I bet you will never regret! πβπ»
