Could you relate that freedom was fenced in many ways even in the democratic countries in the name of social customs, culture, ignorance etc.

Today I'm gonna share it from my personnel experience

We live in a joint family i.e. with my father's brother family , they have a son(Kannan) and daughter( Kalai ). Kannan always used to be lazy and he avoid to do the bed (not only this) after waking up in the morning. Sometimes it remains there still night. One day he did this usual thing, I asked him, not to do this its not a good thing to do. Even if he denied, I'm not gonna annoy him but his reply were surprised & scattered me

His words were,

Why I have to do this? This things have to be done by girl. (Note: He is 14 years old)

I got anger & Kalai joined me, we told this to aunt(My father's brother wife) but her reply is like

She: Yeah! What he said is 100% true, you both were supposed to do that, it your duty and its a shame for a men to do this when there are two woman to take care of!

I've said the things clearly in the way she could understand

She: How dare you could take back to your elder, this is the reason why women should remain in home & not to attend the stuffs like education.

Later she called Kalai(11 years old) and told in low voice that, Kalai shouldn't hear my words, I'm leading her in a wrong way, and cursed me indirectly that I would reap the benefit when I'm married.

I smiled by hearing this, and doesn't take it further to avoid void arguments which is not gonna benefit me in either way.

I'm not exacerbating but its the fact.

That day, I've understood the fence behind freedom of woman is a woman, though she is educated she couldn't come out of this patriarchal mindset.

You  may say its a simple thing, but these simple things combines together to form a big thing, which exploits women in many way.

Yeah, I know today the scenario is changing but in a tortoise speed, still in rural areas women were confined to their home and society have designed various scales to mark a girl to be an ideal women, many with or without knowledge fell into this trap.

Whatever you've asked to do, just think and act. To do be frank use your brain and ask a question towards this stereotypes.
