Depression is something that we all go through but don't understand till we reach a saturation point in our lives where we can't go on like that anymore. We keep acting like we are okay but deep inside we know that we are not happy anymore. Nothing cheers us up,the people we once liked,the food we used to cherish,the different places we liked to visit. Nothing seems like before. We start losing interest in everything. Not because we are depressed but we are tired of faking it,of people,of their false behaviour.We feel like no one is there for us,no one really understands what we're going through. We start feeling completely numb as if we are dead,we don't feel anything anymore. We don't feel like interacting with anyone. We don't like going out of our house. Everything comes at a standstill.
The number of people going through depression is humongous. Most of the people who are undergoing depression don't let that side come out because they know that no one is going to understand. People with shallow mindset and understanding poke fun of people who are facing this problem. Depression can start at an early stage as a child. The kids who bully that one kid who doesn't have a good family life are tormenting his childhood memories forever. The biggest responsibility here is of parents who don't understand what their child is going through. They rather tell their children that there is no such thing called as depression in this world. The wrong advice people give to their children about depression ultimately limits their thinking and creates a fear in their mind that they shouldn't share such thing with anyone.
We as human beings should keep checking up on each other rather than letting others down. Though we don't treat depression the right way by ignoring it and not giving it that much attention,we should take care of our mental health the way we treat our physical health. We should be happy mentally, emotionally,socially and physically. We shouldn't ignore our mental health,if needed one should go to a qualified psychiatrist or psychologist.Practising self love is one way of curing your depression.Try to remove all the toxic people from your life to gain mental peace.Try to perform digital detox once a week.Try to improve your physical fitness and meditate to calm your mind. Do practice healthy habits and make certain lifestyle changes.All this will help you in coping up with depression.
