How often have you come across people who work immensely hard to achieve that one particular goal in their life? Do you wonder what makes you different from that person? Have you ever been in a situation where degrading yourself felt like an easier task as it naturally boosted the signals in your neurons when compared to highlighting your plus points? Are JEE/NEET/ other competitive exams the only criteria to determine your worth just when you are about to finish your teenage and enter into the adult phase of life. Well the answer to that is surprisingly a YES according to the society, but if you pause for a moment and wonder, you might realize that some rules are meant to be broken, right? Then why not break this rule!
Thought Process. These two words would define who you are rather than a page long resume or a three hour long paper. A lot of people thoughtlessly wander around looking for an excuse and constantly demotivating themselves after not being able to crack an examination meant to test only one component of your life- academic knowledge. Especially in a country like India, where cities and its roads are named after coaching institutions, it has virtually become impossible for a candidate to even think about the broader perspective of life and become settled in a box thinking that the only way to get out of that box would be by clearing these examinations.
Wait a minute! You might perhaps be wondering if this means ruling out competition from every student's lives. No, a healthy competition is the key to unlock the fullest potential of any candidate but a competition filled with holes that lets creative imaginations flood away thereby locking one's mind by restricting diversified thinking is one among the poorest forms of competition. Gone are the days when premier institutions handed over well paying jobs to candidates just based on knowledge gained through books. Being from one among the top institutions does not mean that you are entitled to secure the highest package. Emotional Intelligence, Behavioral psychology, critical thinking, quick and swift decision making are some of the skills one needs to acquire to make himself/herself stand apart from the crowd.
This question would have multiple answers, but the most honest answer lies within the person himself. It clearly lies with the way you deal with setbacks in your life. If you have trained your mind to handle issues by considering to extract the positive aspects from the setback, then there is no way those results are going to hamper your progress in life. Just sit back for a moment and think to what extent are you willing to go to pursue a course in a particular university. They say hard work is the key to success, but one should focus on opening the door to his/her success and not what the society thinks is the door for it. In the end, always remember to accept things and that if you have failed in anything, it simply means that that position has been grabbed by someone who is more fit for that role and that doesn't make you less knowledgeable in all aspects of life.
