Hello guys! How are all of you? I am very fine and in a great state of mind right now, as I have just finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

I am a bibliophile, which means that I really love reading books! Not many times we come across books that have a deep impact on our soul. The Alchemist is definitely one such book which will make you optimistic and will change your perspective towards life.

So let me just you a brief summary about the book and my experience reading it.

About the author:

Paulo Coelho was born in Brazil and has become one of the most widely read and loved authors in the world. He is especially renowned for The Alchemist and Eleven Minutes. He has received many international awards for his books.

The theme of the book:

The book revolves around the truth of life an that is, we all give up upon our dreams easily. He tells us, and keeps reminding in the book at several points that “ When you really want something, all the universe conspires to help you to achieve it”

The plot of the book:

The story is of a shepherd boy, named Santiago, who loves to travel and read books. After having a recurring dream about a treasure that awaits him near the Pyramids in Egypt, he talks about it to a gypsy woman who helps him interpret the dream and tells him that it is true and a treasure awaits him.

Later the same day he meets a man, claiming to be a king, who somehow already knew about the boy's dream. The man asks him to give 1/10th of his sheep and in return, tells him the location of treasure. The man also tells the boy to follow the ‘omens’ to reach the treasure.

Like this, the boy heads towards his journey to find the treasure overcoming obstacles in the way, survive and thrive to live in an unknown land and having faith and persistence, teaches us many life lessons.

Why to read? (My opinion)

The main tick is that its an all-ages read. The Alchemist is not a one time read, but a book to read again and again because each time you are bound to learn something new from it. There is a flavor of suspense, adventure and love in the book. The reader will encounter many quotes which are bound to make an impact on their life, permanently! (Some of which I have included as images)

“People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don't deserve them, or that they'll be unable to achieve them

“Always listen to your heart”

So for me, The Alchemist is literally 1000000/10; i.e. in my Top 3 favs book list. I would highly recommend all to give it a try. I assure you, you will be hooked!

If you have any such books which had a impact on your soul, let me know in the comments; I would love to read them!

BYYYEEE!
