It all started looking cool, looking modern and looking innocent. Those one last pack promises were all fake. Soon he started feeling tired , losing his fitness. Soon he got surrounded with loneliness and stress. Then at the end, he got admitted…..The guess is correct--- DEATH . 

This is a story of not a person or two but of millions who lose their lives because they can't control themselves from chewing tobacco. Roughly 8 million people die every year from tobacco related ailments around the globe and is surely to rise to another level  by the year 2030.

When is it observed? 

World No Tobacco Day is an initiative of World Health Organization (WHO) and is observed on 31 May every year. 

It is an initiative to spread awareness against the harmful effects of consuming tobacco and how people can get themselves out of this deadly habit. 

How the consumption of tobacco effects our health?

Tobacco is the leading cause of respiratory problems like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tuberculosis and many other lung diseases. Tobacco contains a lot chemicals approximately 7,000 and some of them can be a leading cause of cancer. 

WHO banned any type of advertisement or promotion of tobacco from 2008. This step needs to be appreciated. 

Theme of the day 

World No Tobacco Day 2021 comes with an amazing theme- “Commit to quit”.

This tobacco day we must commit to quit tobacco consumption not just for ourselves but for our loved ones who are getting effected with it without any fault .

On an average, a tobacco consumer spends 4000 dollars annually on tobacco consumption. Well, a very big hole in our wallets.We can use this amount in various productive things such as education, vacation, entertainment ,health and much more. 

5 best tips to quit smoking are as follows:- 

1-  Find a strong personal reason which could  motivate you through your track of quitting smoking. 

2- Go for Nicotine replacement therapy. This will prove beneficial in getting out of this deadly habit. 

3- Think of your loved ones. They are most likely to get effected with it. 

4 - Avoid alcohol consumption. This is another very serious addic 

5-  Do meditation. This will improve you mental health and provide you peace 

So let's use this day to make our future less Smokey and more brighter ☀️.
