The Mysterious Temple In Kerala

In Trivandrum, the state capital of Kerala in southern India, there is a well-known Hindu temple called the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The temple, which honours Lord Vishnu, is renowned for its stunning architecture and extensive past.

The history of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple dates back thousands of years. It is impossible to pinpoint precisely when and by whom the original idol of Sree Padmanabhaswamy was consecrated, either through historical documents or other trustworthy sources. Both the Epics and Puranas make reference to the Temple. Balarama visited this temple, took a bath in Padmatheertham, and offered a number of offerings, according to Srimad Bhagavatha. One of the 12 Vaishnavite saints of the Alvar lineage and a poet from the ninth century, Nammalwar, wrote ten hymns to Lord Padmanabha. Some eminent academics, authors, and historians, including the late Dr. L.A. Ravi Varma of Travancore, have claimed that this temple was built on the first day of the Kali Yuga (more than 5000 years ago).

When a team of archaeologists and authorities visited the temple's vaults for the first time in more than a century in 2011, the temple attracted attention from all over the world. Six vaults were found, and five of them were opened right away. The sixth vault, also known as Vault B, was kept locked up since it was thought to be cursed. In the other vaults, the crew unearthed a staggering hoard of gold, gems, and other priceless artefacts, totaling billions of dollars.

The Padmanabhaswamy Temple's reputation as the richest place of worship in the world has been cemented by this revelation. These assets could be worth ten times as much as their current commercial value if the antique and cultural value were considered.

The enigma surrounding Vault B, on the other hand, remains unresolved to this day. According to legend, the vault is guarded by a curse that will afflict anyone who unlocks it. The curse is claimed to have been put by a group of Brahmin priests who shut the vault in the 1930s.

The Indian Supreme Court ordered the vault to be opened in 2016, notwithstanding the rumours. The team ran into what seemed to be an iron wall that was blocking the entry to the vault, hence the attempt was failed. The wall is thought to be constructed of a unique alloy that is not present on Earth, according to some accounts.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple is still unresolved because no attempt has been made to unlock the vault since that time.
