There is a proverb in sanskrit which says  “VAIDYO NARAYANO HARIHI”, which means ‘’Doctor is equal to LORD NARAYANA himself". In Indian Culture, this saying stands for the doctors as they are referred to being the true form of Lord Narayana as he cures diseases with his kindness, selflessness and medicines which are treated as the pure Ganga.

As the reference goes by, we should all remember that our doctor is also as human as we all are and they cannot and should not be held responsible for any unfortunate occurances in events due to unavoidable circumstances. Frontline workers dedicate their time, energy, strength, knowledge, hardwork and most importantly they risk the lives of their loved ones and come out to cure our diseases so we could be happy with our loved ones.

But yet again, admist a global pandemic we are at a ruthless state where the violence against doctors have started to make sharp noices around the Country. It is shameful to be a part of any such violence, nobody deserves verbal abuse, mental torture or physical torment. Anything and everything in this world can be literally won by just a moment of thinking through and conversing it with patience.

Most doctors who study, work hard, dedicate their years of enjoyable lives to get into a profession of saving people only to kill them! Even in a covid ward, you could find a doctor, nurse or cleaner to be around covid patients and serve them to the best of each of their knowledge. You really think they don't have family? Children, who would go running to them when they get home to hug them? Parents, who constantly worry about their son/daughter being out in this pandemic serving public, so closely to the deadly virus? You think these sacrifices are simple to make?

Maybe, people who bring in violence against frontline workers should try to get to their position professionally and mentally, then try to face the same violence, only then will the society come in terms with the fact that Vaidya is Narayana Hari, a reference because they are in human form with extra qualities to save a human's life and not god himself!

I would like to end my blog here with a request, if you ever choose to be a part of any violence against frontline workers, don't choose to go to a doctor when sick at all!
