Hello everyone, I think I don't need to explain my title of the blog as it is pretty much clear.
So, recently in the news I saw an incident which is not new to our society, I saw a man brutally murdered his wife in public and not even a single person stood up and tried to save her. In the camera footage one can clearly see people looking at that criminal and ignoring as if nothing going on. I just asked myself that how can someone do like this and how those people are just a mere spectators of crime happening in front of them.
I'm sure this incident is not new to anyone, many similar incidents happen in our country everyday and so many cases go unreported.
As being the citizens of this country we say that we are proud to be Indians. But do we really feel proud? To be honest sometimes I feel ashamed, I am sorry for saying this but yes I do feel ashamed sometimes. How can I say that I am a proud Indian when I know that women in India are treated so disrespectfully.
Do you people know that India is one of the world's most dangerous country for women? Yes you heard me right it is true.
So as I was saying that spectators are also not less than a criminal which I think many of you will agree. I think that spectators should also get some type of punishment, maybe not a harsh one but should get one definitely because spectator can not just stop a crime from happening but can also save someone's life like in this case because by doing a crime in public without anyone stopping might give these misogynist criminals more courage that they can do anything.
As a citizen of this country it's not just the duty of the police and the government but it's our duty to step up and make our society a better place. We should treat everyone with love and respect and that's what India has taught the world. We have to fulfill the idea of India as dreamt by Swami Vivekananda, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and many more freedom fighters who fought for the independence of our country and by achieving this only then we can call ourselves proud Indians.
Thank you.
