The following poem elucidates the visibly invisible status of women in society. This invisibility is also present in the women themselves, as they are blinded to these issues by various factors.

Manipulation and gaslighting happen not just by the opposite gender alone but by all the factors that can influence a social being. To always make them fit in a category of womanhood, motherhood, sisterhood, or any other hood that eventually covers them due to the bad weather of the society. Even through all evolution and modernization, the objectification of women is something that still horrors and yet is normalized by the targeted gender itself most of the time.

There is not a serious issue with depending on the men; to be honest, that is not an issue at all to consider as they are also dependent on the women. But the problem that is clearly visible but still ignored and sometimes praised ironically is the “controlling and allowing” treatment of women by men, which is again blinding. This is seen in everyday occurrences, such as a woman feeling blessed when her partner allows her to wear shorts and be sleeveless. This does not make her question: what if he only allows her to wear sleeveless dresses and not shorts? Even though she questions herself, she praises him and feels blessed for wearing sleeveless dresses. However, this may seem bitter; this is the prevalent situation.

The diverting of women’s basic emotional needs is something that still provokes all the misusage of this gender. Often, they are praised as ultimately equal to some divine powers and, at the same time, smashed by gaslighting, manipulation, and various other modes of abuse. Specifically, verbal abuse, because most of the slur words used are only related to a woman or her body, directly or indirectly. This statement does not suggest inventing and articulating slur words relating to the other gender, but rather focusing on how weak they can portray a woman. On one side, her womb is praised, and on the other side, there is a bubbling of outrageous slurs on her reproductive organs. This is the situation of women for several eras amidst all the waves of feminism.

The realization of this relevance is not new nor old, but what old is the ignorance of this continuing situation. Though there is an empowerment of women in today’s society, sadly, there is still a prevalence of society’s poor behaviors' towards women.

They measure us with their eyes
And alter us through vision,
To be fit or to fit in
Like a cloth material.

Screw the volume up and down
To their convenience,
Or else the remote goes
To their control.
