Hello Readers, I hope you will love this blog.
Depression is that sometimes it feels a lot like sadness and a lot more like the emotional equivalent of watching paint dry
Do you know someone who suffers from depression ? Every year, around one in four people will suffer from a mental health issue. That's 5 out of 20 of your classmates.
Depression doesn't care what you are good at, it can affect anyone at any stages in their lives. It can be difficult if you have a close friend or someone in your family who suffers from depression and you don't know what to say/what not to say. From my personal experience and dealing with friends struggling, here's how to deal with depression.
Avoid comparing yourself, and your life with other people. You're almost certainly not seeing the reality, and it will only make you feel worse if you come up short. That is particularly true on social media, where most people just share best parts of their lives.
Try not to think too hard about the future. Try and live in the moment whenever something positive is happening. Resist the urge to wallow in sad music. It might speak to your current mood, but it's unlikely to do much to lift it.
physical activity can help you achieve a sense of purpose, making you feel less stressed and happier. It is essential to do moderate exercise every day to help control your depression, sleep pattern and physical health.
“Depression is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength-carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time”
Keep in touch, talk frequently, or just send your memes. The more engage, the better. Identify the feelings and experiences that people are going through. Notice changes in behavior and ask how you can support them. Don't shy away from those uncomfortable conversations. sometimes people make sad or inappropriate jokes or will say sad things. It is okay to sit in those feelings with a friend.
Depression can be easily dealt with the following ways:
‘Cheer up’
‘Get over it’
‘It's all in your head'
‘life is too short to be depressed’
“Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties toady of its strength”
There's always someone out there willing to listen, sometimes you just have to reach out and ask.
