The hash brown is an unique delicacy on the dining table that everyone loves to eat. This is the simplest recipe to make. They are super delicious with a crispy exterior and fluffy center.
In this blog we will see how to make hash brown recipe. we can easily make this recipe from scratch from just the potato. shredding the potato and seasoning it and forming patties which can then be pan fried as opposed to deep frying. The shallow frying uses less oil while still getting the crispy golden brown crust. These hash browns can be served as part of a meal or as an evening snack.

step 1: Take the potatoes and peel the skin. shred the peeled potatoes using a vegetable grater ( In the vegetable grater shred the potatoes with a big hole not a small hole).
step 2: Rinse the shredded potatoes with the cold water until water is clear, then drain and squeeze dry (rinsing shredded potatoes with cold water helps remove excess starch and make potatoes make crispy)
step 3: Transfer the rinse potatoes into a new bowl and add the all purpose flour, shredded cheese, one large size egg, finely chopped onion, 1 tsp grated garlic, freshly chopped coriander leaves, the required amount of the salt, ½ table spoon red chili powder ,¼ table spoon black pepper . Then mix everything until all the ingredients are combined.
step 4: In a large frying pan heat about 3 to 4 table spoon oil over medium heat . When oil is sizzling hot, place potatoes into a pan in a ½ inch thick layer and shape them in a rectangle or whatever shape you like( for example circle, square, oval and box shape) . cook each side for about 4 minutes or until golden brown(fry with low flame). you can cook 2 to 3 in one batch or more if you are using a larger skillet.
step5 : Take off from the pan and place it in a paper towels and serve with ketchup or any sauce of your choice.
