When She Lost Me In Jharkhand

Hey there!!!

Today I am going to share my experience of being lost in an unknown city at the age of 5. It was a wholesome dramatic incident.

It was the year 2011. My mam was getting married. My Mamiji belonged from Jharkhand. We all went to Jharkhand from Uttar Pradesh. It was the city of Jamshedpur. We all went from train. Reached there and we're enjoying events. It was a trip of few days maybe. The cottage where we stayed was in a colony where all the cottages have same gates and same structure of building. There were number plate hanging on each gate. My mum told me that it's not only the street or colony….All the nearby colonies are in the same way. All the houses were identical.

Daily in afternoon, we all went to have our meals at the venue. I was a kid and a responsibility of my elders. That day, my mummy and papa had to go to the market and Mamiji's house. I was handed over to one relative. Long after my mum left, everyone departed for the venue. In between of the way I thought that I don't like the poori they make. Usually mom eats my pooris but today no-one is here to eat them and I don't want to waste any. I stopped walking in between. Everyone was keep going. I tried to return to my cottage. But lo! I couldn't remember which one was mine. I panicked a bit. I kept walking to catch up those people but I couldn't see them anymore. I changed streets and saw few women from their cottage, asking me why was I crying. After walking 2 to 3 streets I had started crying. I was saying mummy mummy aloud and was just waiting them to find me.

The other side of story :- This is what my sister told me. I was little so I don't know which one is true, first one or this one. She said that….. I was walking without slippers. She asked me to go home and wear slippers. Then after she forgot abaout me and remembered when they reached venue.

Back to story

After few hours when it was almost sunset. I saw my mummy and papa coming from the entrance of the street. I went running to my mum. After a very long time, she picked me up and hugged me hard. I never missed her this much. Later on, I thought what kind of fool I was. Being lost in an unknown city.

From my mother's view :-

When I came back from your Mamiji's house, all the children were there except you. I asked that relative about my whereabouts. He said that you were just there and he didn't know where you went. I was taking it calmly but I couldn't find you. I told your papa and he started screaming at me…we both panicked. We went to search everywhere. I was so scared because Mamiji's family had told us earlier that keep good care of children, as kidnaps are becoming very common in Jamshedpur. And we had heard the news of kidnap that same day. We met a police inspector in between. She scolded us a lot. She said that if we can't find you then contact her. We went street to street and everyone was so worried. I was crying and searching scared of kidnaps. Then finally I got you there crying. Everyone was relieved only after that ….

So, this was my story of being lost. Have you ever witnessed something like this? Tell me in comments.

Be safe and sound,

Yagya
