Diet is essential to our bodies for a number of reasons. It provides us with energy for work, leisure and daily activities. It helps us grow, strengthens our bones and muscles, repairs damaged body cells and boosts our immunity against harmful external factors like pathogens. In addition, food also gives us a sense of satisfaction, which is an integral part of our mental health, but some foods are not healthy. Only foods that contain nutrients in a balanced ratio are considered healthy.
