Old age comes with numerous health consequences like the weakening of immune system.your body now has a delayed response to desease and heals slower than usual .

At the height of the Coronavirus desease spread . Now more than ever the seniors need to adopt healthy lifestyle to keep their immune system up to par it is crucial to prioritise your health by quitting unhealthy behaviours.

Some common habits that contribute to weakening of immune system are as follows:

  1. Too much screen time :-Now in time of pandemic every adult and children spends awful lot of their time buried in their gadgets. Smartphones are an excellent tool for communication and entertainment but to not when used too much to the point of neglecting actual socialization and physical activity. In addition excessive exposure to the blue light of gadgets can strain your eyes ,disrupt good sleeping habits and even kill your mood.

2. Smoking :- Nowadays smoking is like to showoff and making look coll infront of others. Many individuals brought their cigarette and tobacco smoking habit into their old ages. Despite regular exercise and proper diet smoking will impede your journey towards healthy life. It opens up your body to many other disease like cancer, heart and lung disease, bronchitis etc.

3.Alcohol consumption :- Alcoholism often begins during retirement years so pay close attention to your drinking habits. Now with increase of party culture the youth are too much immersed in alcohol. Excess alcohol drinking will impair several vital organs in your body mainly the liver and kidney . These two plays a huge role in removing toxins and wastes from your body.

4.Staying up late :- Sleep depreciation disrupts normal cell repair and protein generation of your immune system will be left unprotected without these proteins making you prone even to simple cold and flu.so make sure to get seven to nine hours of good night sleep to maintain the strength of your immune system.

5. Neglecting doctors appointment :- Nowadays we are only going to doctors when we stuck with some disease and never take care of our health properly by diagnosing our health regularly. Despite the hassle you should always make it a point to meet with your physician regularly skipping it might result in following development of the chronic condition, progression of an underlying medical conditions etc.

All of these compromise the integrity of your immune system and leaves you vulnerable to other infectious disease.
