Aren't we always ready to destroy the evil?
Where is the evil?
The word ‘evil’ always brings a picture to our imagination. Yes, it's always an ugly faced figure or a disturbing image.
We never imagine ourselves as evil. Some of us are even not aware of what lies on the other side of the coin.
On this day, India celebrates Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami- The Triumph Over Evil. The significance of this festival is the celebration of the victory over evil.
If you ask yourself what is the evil that exists, there will be so many answers: corona, terrorism, violence, corruption and so on.
These definitely are the evils in the modern society and we do not have any doubt about it. But, what about the evil that has been existing within since forever?!
Do we identify the evil taking over our minds?
Are we conscious of the decisions we make or the actions we take?
Is it good or evil?
The good and the bad, the dark and the light, the God and the demon. The battle has always existed within.
The dark is and will be a part of us. How do we kill it?
Can we eliminate it completely?
Our darkness is inherently within us. We are the dark and the light. Everything has a balance and we are to balance this duality. This balance is our very nature. The balance is everywhere, within and without !
The darkness will exist within us, until we perish. All we need to do is triumph over the evil, each and every time it shows up.
We always have a choice. A choice to be made everyday. Once we keep choosing good over evil, we suppress the dark with the light. We start allowing the light to grow and the darkness to subside.
So, the battle is not for a day. It continues. It is ongoing and it is a choice we face everyday at different crossroads of life.
The good thing is we can choose the good over evil in every small action. We can choose kindness over anger, compassion over judgment, understanding over criticism.
Today, give yourself a pat on the back, for each of those times when you chose good over evil. You triumphed !
Start afresh and make a new record of triumphing even in the darkest of hours 💙
Happy Dussehra & Vijaya Dashami!!
