In Or Out Position In Football
Hi, I am here again with some another and basic knowledge of football. In earlier blog I wrote about an important rule of football that is offside rule which can be a game changer moment in the match and today we will get to know about the positioning of the ball at different moments of the match so lets startβ¦
Lets start with the history of the football basically known as soccer in England (the credit of origin of football with uniform rules goes to England) and other world know this game as football. Association for the regulation of the international matches is Federation Internationale de Football Association which is famously known as FIFA, which is situated in Zurich in Switzerland. FIFA was founded on 21 may 1904.
Now lets get to know the positioning of the ball according to the FIFA rules
- There is always a confusion for the audience of the match who do not know much about the rules of the football that weather the outside rules is as similar to the cricket. In cricket if the ball or the fielder with the ball in his hand touches the boundary line then we consider it as four or six but in football there is no matter where the player stands or ball touches the player.
- The ball is considered as out if it does not touch the vertical plane perpendicular to the ground on the outer side of the side line weather the ball is on ground or in the air.
- When the ball is out of the ground the ball is started by the player of the opponent`s team (the ball last touch to the player of the team) by throughing in the ball from the outside of the ground where the ball goes out.
- For the through in of the ball the player`s (who is throughing the ball) face and body alignment should be in the direction of the through and both legs should touch the ground and ball should be thrown over the head with both hands touches the ball. There should be straight through by hands (no twisting of hands allowed) and there should not be contact of foot of the player (who is throughing the ball) to the line.
- Same case with the goal line, if the ball clears the vertical plane (on the outer side) of the frame (on ground or in the air) then it is considered as goal if the ball is kicked from the onside or own goal and with out any foul.
Here I tried to solve the confusion of the ball in or out on either side of the line, I hope it will help you to distinguish the rules of football to the rules of cricket.
