The Most Unusual Birds Ever

Nature is the most awkward and mysterious thing ever as long as anyone can't understand it so far. It has created mountains, rivers, oceans, deserts, animals, birds and human beings. Sometimes, human takes time to understand the mechanism of nature, how it works, what does it require? But, our our scientific research has revealed many secrets of nature.

Scientific approach to the animals and birds is somewhat different. It has helped uncovering unlimited species of birds. These all are known for their unique characteristics. The following species play an important role in nature:

SHOEBILL-

Shoebill is also known as shoe-billed stork and whale-headed stork. It looks like a stork. It is a tall bird ranging from 100cm to 140cm. It's size doubles when it flies. It isn't aggressive to humans as scientific study says, but sometimes stare right back at humans. It is now an endangered species. Just less than 5000 birds are now living mainly in East Africa, where it was born. 

PUFFIN-

It is actually originated in Atlantic Ocean. The special thing about puffin is that it can hold some fish in its bill while traveling. Scientific study observes them as wise and intelligent birds which was once proven wrong. It loves to inhabit in open sea. It is quite big and normally its size is noticed around 32cm. It's really important for smoothly-running nature because it indicates the amount of fishing humans do through the quantity of food that they carry home.

HORNBILL-

It seems bizarre until someone closely observes it. It breeds in tropical and sub-tropical Asia, Africa and Malenesia. It can be identified easily by its down-curved beak. Its diet mainly includes small animals, insects and fruits. They can be kept as pets at home, but their large size ranging from 95cm to 150cm doesn't suit a normal household. 

FROGMOUTH-

They mostly look like an owl, but they aren't. They mostly feed on frogs, centipedes, small birds, cockroaches and other small insects. There are three sub-species of it: tawny, marbled and papuan. Majority of frogmouth birds are found in India and Australia. This isn't a large birds. It's normally 25cm to 55cm large. It acquires aggressive if any male bird try to intrude their nests.

KAGU-

It's feathers are very unique that always keep it waterproof. It has long legs and bluish grey wings make it look very adorable. This species is the only living member of genus Rhynochetos and the family Rhynochetidae, that's why, it is so special and unique. It's a chicken sized bird that weigh upto 2.5 pounds.

All these mentioned species are uniquely preserved. People should respond to protect them from hunting and other threats they fight.
