Interesting facts about currency 

* Collecting coins and notes (Numismatics) is the oldest hobby in the world. Collectors spend huge sums of money to buy old coins, new ones minted on special occasions, and currency notes issued with printing errors. A rare rupee coin minted by the British rulers in 1885 with the effigy of Queen Victoria was recently bought at an online auction for a sum of ten crore rupees. 

* Although all countries have their own currency, the US dollar is the most used for trade between countries around the world. 

* Printed between 1947-50 after the independence of our country The coins are called Frozen series. On 15 August 1950, the first Anna series of coins with Ashoka Stupa was minted on behalf of the Republic of India. 

* RBI has set up a Monetary Museum in Mumbai which tells the history of currency. Here you can see how the currency has evolved from the time of the Indus Civilization to today. 

* The cost of making a rupee coin is more than a rupee. Another eleven paise is spent on a rupee. Not so for other coins. 

* A chemist from the University of Massachusetts collected currency notes from different cities and tested them. Almost 90 percent of them have traces of drugs on them.                     * The highest denomination note in our country was Rs.10,000 printed in 1938. It was abolished in 1946 and brought back in 1954. It was canceled again in 1978.          * Most printed image on the currency of many countries - Queen Elizabeth.

   * The oldest coin in use is the pound sterling of England. It has been in use since the 18th century.

Through this, all the users can meet virtually on the computer and interact with each other with a digital avatar.
