We must not think that beneath the surface of the oceans there is nothing going on. No for indeed the finest flowers grow there and fish glide between them. 

Standing in the deepest spot of all, is the sea kings castle. It's roof is covered with shells which open and close as water flows over them. In each shell there is a glittering pearl, which is fit for a queen. 

The sea king looked after his children alone, and his mother kept house for him., she was a wise woman and caring grand mother to the six little sea princesses. They were all lovely, and the youngest was prettiest among all. Her skin was soft and delicate and her eyes we're as blue as sea. But just like all others she has no feet and her body ended in fish's tail. She was quiet and thoughtful -very different from her sisters. 

While they got excited about wonderful things which they found in shipwrecks, she cared only about the pretty red flowers and beautiful white marble statue of a handsome boy which had once fallen to the bottom of the sea. 

She made her grand mother tell her all she knew of the world above the ocean and nothing made her happier than these stories. 

When you turn 15 you are allowed to swim up out of the sea, sit on the rocks in the moonlight and to watch the ships sailing by; and then you will see all i am telling about- grand mother said. 

After a year, eldest among them turned 15 and she is allowed to swim up and she promised her sisters to tell all the things that she will watch and after swim up and return, she told that moonlight was the most beautiful thing that she watched and there was a small city near beach and she said she heard human voices also.

After a year second sister is allowed to swim up and after return she said sunset was the most beautiful thing that she watched. 

Third sister was the most bravest girl among all and in her turn she swam up along broad River and she saw green hills ,forests and palaces with castles sitting on them. She saw children playing in the grass and swimming in water even though they don't have any fish tail, she also wants to play with them but they scared of her. 

Fourth sister was fearful one and she didn't want to explore more and she told that sky looking like a glass was the most beautiful thing. 

The fifth sister birthday was in winter and in her turn she saw icebergs floating in the sea looking like a pearl and thought they are most beautiful thing. 

At last sixth one turned to 15 and when she swim up she saw the clouds in the sky and a large ship anchored nearby, the little mermaid swams up near the window of the ship and saw more number of well dressed people gathering inside and the most beautiful was the young prince with his blue eyes celebrating his birthday party so sailors litting rockets to make the night as bright as day and she scared of it dived under the water but soon she swim up above sea and saw that star like things falling around from sky. She had never seen firecrackers before. 

As it was late the ship started to sail, the mermaid followed the ship to see prince. Soon the waves broke the ship and mermaid thought situation is going to be dangerous and humans are not good swimmers so she dived around there to find prince and at the time of finding him his breath was weak and eyes were closed, she held his head above and dived him to shore. 

In the morning, when she opened her eyes she was in white sand and prince lying next to her
