He will be able to participate in international T20 tournaments as well as other competitions, such the Road Safety Series, for which he has already been selected. Starting on September 10, he will compete in the Road Safety Series.
Former Indian batter Suresh Raina has declared his retirement from both international and domestic cricket competitions. It had been a tremendous honour for him to represent his country and the state of Uttar Pradesh, he said in a statement posted on his Twitter account. I would want to publicly declare that I am giving up all kinds of cricket. For their constant support and belief in my abilities, I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir, and all of my supporters.
He had previously stated, "I want to continue playing cricket for two or three years," in an interview with Dainik Jagran. Several talented young cricketers are rising through the ranks of Uttar Pradesh. I already have the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association's no-objection certificate. My decision has been communicated to Vice-President Rajiv Shukla and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. He said, "I'll participate in the Road Safety Series." T20 franchises in the UAE, Sri Lanka, and South Africa have been in touch with me, but I haven't decided where to play yet.
Less than an hour after MS Dhoni on August 15 made his international cricket retirement announcement, Raina did the same in 2020. In 2011, Raina was a member of the team that Dhoni led to the global championship.
Raina had not played in a first-class cricket match since 2018. He retired from the IPL in October 2021. From 2008 until 2021, Raina was an important member of the Chennai Super Kings. Raina won four championships with CSK in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021.
He continues to maintain the record for the most runs scored with 5687 runs from 176 games. Following a player auction in which none of the 10 organisations placed an offer for him, he was released by Chennai Super Kings.
He retired having scored 6871 runs in 109 first-class matches, 80 runs in 302 list A games, and 8654 runs in 336 T20 matches, according to his scorecard. In the 2002β2003 season, he began his senior domestic career with the UP, and in 2005, he made his international debut. He participated in 18 Tests, 78 T20s, and 225 ODIs for India in all.
