KL Rahul is ready to replace Shubman Gill at the top of the order with Shikhar Dhawan in the next games as he would utilise the ODI series against Zimbabwe as a "dress rehearsal" for the Asia Cup.

Gill may be handed the number three place because the T20 World Cup is of the biggest significance and he isn't really considered for the shortest format. This would ensure that his skipper gets adequate playing time before the regional event in the UAE that begins on August 27.

All three of them being healthy and available for each game of the series is assumed in this statement. The quick three-match series will begin on August 18 in Harare without Rahul Dravid in charge of the support staff, although NCA head VVS Laxman is almost anticipated to follow the head coach's game plan.
