Story:
A DJ named Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) has a cosmic bond with fire. He frequently has dreams about an Astra that a notorious gang is chasing. However, Junoon (Mouni Roy) is the one searching for a piece of an anklet that, when connected with the other two pieces, has the power to end the world. Does Shiva's life somehow relate to this Astraverse? What happened in the past? Shiva, who is he? How does he defend the planet? And where do Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Alia Bhatt appear in this arrangement? Watch the movie on the big screens to find out the answers.
Plus Points:
The combination of the many Astras and the creation of a narrative seem to be extremely intriguing. Ayan Mukherjee's central idea is sound and presented within a captivating environment. The production team invested a lot of money, and it is evident on screen.
As the main character with exceptional abilities, Ranbir Kapoor brings life to the part. Ranbir excelled in the movie's climax. Throughout the entire movie, Alia Bhatt supports him admirably, and their chemistry is attractive.
Nagarjuna performs admirably in a small but crucial role. During the intermission, he obtains a crucial moment and keeps the audience's attention. As the major antagonist, Mouni Roy excels because she gets the meatiest portion. Utilizing this significant opportunity, she takes on big-name opponents.
Minus Points:
The excessive use of VFX is the main issue with the movie. There are a tonne of VFX scenes that all look the same and get boring after a while. The first half's VFX are cheap-looking.
Alia and Ranbir's lacklustre romance receives more attention, which is boring to the public. It takes the director a very long time to get into the primary plot. Additionally, his explanation of the Astraverse is unclear. It takes some time for the average viewer to realise what the movie is really about.
The movie needs to be cut right now because it is so long. The action blocks also lose their realistic appearance with time. The audience loses enjoyment when there are too many images and aerial manoeuvres.
Verdict:
Brahmastra is an all-around passable action drama with an intriguing setting. Although the assessment of astras and their cosmos is intriguing, the narration is disorganised. The VFX are overdone, and the love tale is boring. The storyline and grandeur of the movie, however, provide the viewer with moments of intrigue, making it a watchable movie this weekend. The movie will find viewers in Telugu because Rajamouli's name is associated with it, but the rest will depend on word-of-mouth.
