Climate Change:- Growing Threat To The Earth. Part 2

…………………. To continuous

According to a Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) study, to achieve the net-zero target by 2070, India needs an investment of over $10 trillion (at 2020 prices), of which $3.5 trillion may fall short.

The whole debate on climate ambitions hasn't changed much, even as the threat continues to grow.  With current commitments, global warming is expected to reach 2.5 °C by the end of the century.

What's more, about 36 percent of the global carbon budget based on the 1.5 °C target (with a 50 percent chance) is on track to run out by 2030.  Despite this, the COP-27 final document did not include India's demand for a phase-out of all fossil fuels.

But it has room for a phased reduction in coal use and the elimination of ineffective fossil fuel subsidies.  Overall, COP 27 failed to achieve its objective of 'uniting for implementation on all fronts'.  In such a situation, the expectations from Cop 28 have increased a lot.

These include ensuring financial flows for 'loss and damage', creating a roadmap for the supply* of climate finance and keeping 1.5°C expectations alive.

Close to nature:-

In the European country Denmark, it is also a tradition to spend time in the open air, amidst nature.  This passion for nature is called friluftsliv (free lufts - live) in Denmark.  Which means breathing in the open air or living freely in the open air.

There is a saying that there is no such thing as bad weather, only clothes that don't suit it.  That's why people go out in every season.  This tradition has been going on for almost 100 years.  ● The credit for popularizing Frei-lufts-liv in Denmark goes to the playwright and poet Henrik Ibsen.

He used this word to show the importance of spending time in nature.  He had told how it keeps physical and mental health good.  Today this proverb is used for lunch in the open in the woods, skiing in the middle of snowfall in winter.

Some companies in Denmark even give employees 90 minutes off work every Wednesday so they can go out into nature.  Some people even give incentives to the employees to motivate them to go out.

Apart from Denmark, people spend time amidst nature in Nordic countries like Sweden etc.  According to the survey, a third of the people in Sweden go out at least once a week.
