Hey guys 

Today, I m here to share the true story of a doll named Robert . How it became so famous that a movie franchise(of 5 movies) was made on the doll. Let's get into the story -

The story starts in the late 1800s. Thomas Otto and his family moved into a mansion located in key West , Florida . the mansion is now known as artist house. They were rich and strict. Sometimes, they even used to mistreat their servants. That's what became a turning point in their life. 

They had hired a woman to take care of their son Robert . But that woman was into black magic and all. one day, Robert's mother caught her performing black magic in their backyard. After a long argument, in which they scolded and mistreated the woman , at last fired her. But before she left ,the woman gave Robert a doll , a large 3 feet tall doll , which had buttons in place of eyes and had human hairs , it was filled with straws. 

At that time , such dolls were popular, people used to make long dolls , resembling real children, but this doll was a special one. Robert named the doll after himself , he used to call it Robert. He became really close to the doll , he used to put his own clothes on it,Take it outside wherever he go , it had a seperate chair on dining table and he also used to sleep with it always. Soon , Robert , the doll became his trustworthy companion. But , this innocent relationship took a strange turn. Later, Robert chose to be called by his middle name Gene instead of Robert. He told his mother that Robert was his doll's name,not his. Gene used to talk to Robert for hours. Sometimes, gene would suddenly become excited or angry or  nervous , his changes in behaviour used to worry the servants and his mom . But this was only the beginning. 

Soon ,they started observing objects thrown here and there across the room. Gene's toys all scattered in room and giggling sounds could be heard.whenever , these things used to happen, his mother always scolded or beated gene and gene always used to say that Robert did it. But, of course , who would believe it.things were turning really bad , so his parents decided to lock up Robert in a box and put it in the attic. This is where the doll stayed for many years. 

After years , when gene's father died, he returned to the house with his wife . He became an artist and thought that this house will be perfect for him as it is spacious and fit for his work. While cleaning , he found his doll again. And once again , he became obsessed with it. He used to carry it everywhere though his wife didn't like it , but he didn't care. 

After sometime, his wife locked it in the turret room . 

But their relationship didn't get any better , due to some reasons, she got insane and died . Gene soon followed behind. 

After their death , many people claimed that they have heard some evil laughing sounds from that turret room. And Robert also used to attack people who went there. 

Soon after, a new family bought the house. The doll was again moved to attic. But it was often found lying anywhere in the house . One night , Robert was found near the owner's bed while giggling and holding a kitchen knife in hand. The owners immediately left the house. 

Robert was later moved to the east mortello museum in key West , where he is sitting in a glass box till now.

But many visitors and employees complain that they have seen the doll move. They have seen his smile changed as well . Some people say that he will even curse you. If you want to take his picture there , u have to ask for his permission first , if he tilt his head, it means he agrees and then only u can take a picture, if u take it without his permission then u will be cursed. Same goes if u mock him or make fun of him.

So that was all.
