Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for showering so much love on my last blog. Can't believe to seeing such an overwhelming response from my fellow moon lovers. Many like me are inclined towards the moon.
So I am a person who likes to visit different places, try on different things, especially food. So, today I went to a place called ‘Majnu ka Tila’ in Delhi, which is also called Tibetan market. It had been quite some time that I was delaying going there, but alas today was the day! I went along with one of my school friends who I met after years.
We boarded the metro and hopped off at Vidhan Sabha metro station from where we took an e-rickshaw. The main gate itself gave a pure Tibetan vibe, it was made in a proper Tibetan style. When I went inside, I was surprised to see the place. I could never have imagined a place like this here in Delhi. It felt as if I was not in Delhi anymore, it was as if I had come to Tibet/Nepal. I had mixed feelings, I was unable to digest the fact that it was a part of Delhi. ohh man! such variety here. The main feeling was quite overwhelming to see such a unique place that I never imagined could have existed here.
Anyways moving on, I had always seen on the snapchat stories of some YouTubers of them eating a strange thing known as ‘LAPHING’, I always wondered what and how it would be. Today all my questions were answered, I had laphing today! It tasted like the younger version of steamed momos (and if you have been reading my blogs then you might know what big fan I am of momos). So laphing is one of their traditional dishes and it tasted heavenly. Furthermore, we had their Tibetan momos (because why not?).
Then we decided to sit in some Tibetan cafe, and what's better than visiting the AMA Cafe (which I have written about in one of my previous blogs), but there was waiting for about an hour so we went to another cafe by the name of ‘Free Tibet’. The interiors were simple yet extravagantly pretty. Had some really delicious stuff and made memories of a lifetime.
When in Delhi, do visit Majnu ka Tila. And if you have do share your experiences in the comments.
