Kumhar, a person who is truly connected to the soil of the earth, or, as we can say, to the soil of his country. Kumhar is a person who lives his whole life near the soil and runs his household with the help of the soil. We all say that we are connected to the earth, but are we really? People who are really connected to the soil of Earth are Kumhars (potters), farmers, or the people who worked with it and literally put their hands in the sand.

Kumhars, also known as potters, make pots out of sand and a wheel-like structure. The sand or clay is purified before use. After making the pots on the wheel, potters heat the pots at a high temperature to make them hard.

Pots made by potters look very beautiful and are also very good to use. Pottery is a very amazing talent that very few have, but we forget to appreciate that talent. Very few people use utensils made by potters now; I think they are used mostly in villages now. Potters never get the chance to be appreciated; they sell the items they make to shopkeepers at a very low price, and the shopkeepers sell them to customers at very reasonable prices. The person who works hard to make the pots does not receive adequate compensation or recognition for their efforts.

The art work done by Kumhars is amazing and definitely deserves appreciation and the right place in society. The most important thing is that change does happen if we try hard. If we really want to appraise the work done by potters, then we have to make the change. We can buy the pots from the potters instead of buying them from shopkeepers. People think that they will not find any potters in the city or that it is hard to find any potters in the city, but you will definitely find one if you try. We have Google; just make a search and you will find a potter in seconds.

Begin the change by purchasing pottery from potters and paying them a fair price for their work, as well as recognizing and appreciating their talent.

When we talk about ancient times, potters were known as the pride of India. Potters demonstrate their skill in front of various kings and are greatly admired. We may have forgotten how much talent these people have and how they are not getting what they deserve, but we can give it all back to them just by bringing about change.

Potteries look so beautiful; they come in different sizes and different designs. We have fridges now, but in ancient times, people put water in the pot; it stayed cool and was also healthy to drink. I mean, in villages, people still drink "matke ka paani."

It is amazing to see how few of us are still connected to our culture and to older times.
