Hello Everyone,
Today I am very excited to share this Blog. It’s about our childhood games. I am from Tamilnadu, India. (South District) So here I have to use more Tamil words about the Game. Some of the game names and playing methods may differ from district or slang. So kindly Excuse me for that.
When we are kids we all play outside of the house, even a street or neighbour’s house and so on. But nowadays kids are not going out of the house; they play only indoor games or use gadgets. If they go out of the house, they play at Play Station (Fun City).
Most of this Generation Kid, not playing physical games much including my kid. Because now the situation is also not the same as before, when we are kids. So I think they are not physically strong enough.
In our childhood days we played more physical games with friends and neighbours. What golden days those are! Here I share some of the games which I liked and played. Let’s start the game.
Then that person takes the cloth and catches him. If he failed to catch him, then the game starter is the winner and he can sit in the place of the person who failed to catch him.
2. Nondi/Pandi: For this game we draw a Square shape with 2 Columns and 4 rows in the ground using a stick or sometimes legs. This game will be played one by one or two teams. First person takes a flat stone (Oodu/Sappai) and puts the first square of one column and goes through the next column by hopping with one leg (we should fold one leg and hop) and tap the stone with leg and take the stone out from the square. This is the first step of the game.
While playing this game we never touch the lines we draw and never use the folded leg and never touch the ground with folded leg. If we do so, we are out of the game and start again from the first.
This is a very long game with various levels. After the first square is done, they do the same for the next 3 too. After finishing four squares, we can place the stone in front and back side of the hand, on the foot, forehead, under the knee and play each one separately. We can play this one by one.
After that, we threw the stone out of the four squares and moved row wise using two legs by closed eyes like sariya/thappa (wright/wrong). Then we ask the next player, to which box you want to throw my stone? Then we turned to the opposite side of the box and threw the stone which she said, without seeing.
If I succeed, then I will play the game like step 1 and complete the level, after that I block the box for a compliment of winning the game. I can use the blocked box and not other players.
What an interesting game? Is it Right? We will see the other games in the next blog.
Thank you all,
