There are a few pitfalls that you should avoid while planning your career while you're young. People believe that anything they intend to accomplish as a career will be a complete success. It's great to be self-assured and believe in your own hardwork, but you must also be prepared to deal with the unexpected situations that life throws at you. When things go wrong, your life shouldn't come to a halt while you grieve. You should always have a backup plan / Plan B as a career choice on hand.

So, What is Plan B?

Plan B is basically your backup option to use when life throws you a curveball. If plan A fails due to unforeseen circumstances you should be prepared to work on your Plan B without having to deal with any setbacks and going blank. It should be the immediate ideal next option for you.

It is a common misconception that Plan B is for loosers ; and that only individuals who are terrified of failure keep a back up plan on hand. No, this isn't the case. Plan B is not for loosers, it is to retain our professional lives in balance.

The most successful people are those who are good at plan B.

You may focus on only one goal as a goal oriented individual. However, you never know which ball life will toss at you. For example, suppose you decide to pursue a profession as a cabin crew member at a young age,say 15 years old, and God forbid you have an accident at the age of 23 that leaves you with a scar on your face. When it comes to pursuing a profession as a cabin crew member, having a clear skin is very much important. You shouldn't be at a loss for what to do at this point. 

In such a condition, you may experience anxiety attacks or go into despair, both of which can completely devastate you. Plan B can be your lifesavior at such times.

Now take a pause and ask this to yourself ; 

Are you ready to deal with such a situation?

Are you ready to rise beyond your difficulties? 

What will you do if things don't go as planned?

However, having a Plan B does not imply that you will not give your all to your main goal, and that you will able to relax knowing that you have a backup plan. Plan B should only be used in unforeseen circumstances; don't rely on it. This should not dampen your enthusiasm to reach your goals or lower your performance. Simply concentrate and give your best shot!
