Another Women's Day passed at a time when sexual violence against women and anti-feminist references are on the rise. Today, we are going to discuss about the top 5 films based on the theme of how to overcome anti-feminist situations with one's own will. Talented directors, writers, actors and filmmakers transform the moments they hear from women into movies. These films tell the story of the need for every woman to separate herself from the guardianship of authoritarianism.

Definitely a must see movies for everyone, here are some stories to tell for every woman.

Lady Bird (2017)

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee and actress Greta Jervig, the film tells the story of a rebellious teenager who wants to break away from the hustle and bustle of his hometown for higher education and join a prominent school group. The girl who plays the central character is played by Cyrus Ronan. Lady Bird has a very complex relationship with her mother, played by Lourie Metasilph. Her performance in the film earned Cyrus the Golden Globe for Best Actress.

Frances Ha (2012)

Starring Greta Jervig, the film focuses on the life of a woman who aspires to greatness in New York and her reaction to circumstances. Filmed in black and white, the film is about friendship and a difficult time in life. The film is directed by Jorwig's life partner, Noah Bombash.

Thappad (2020)

The theme of the story is domestic violence, which is not discussed by many and does not come to the forefront of society. Tapsi Pannu portrays a woman who ends her love affair with her husband with a slap on the cheek in a public place. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film represents a strong community of women who give up everything and stand on their own two feet when their dignity is questioned in marriage.

Lipstick Under My Burqa (2016)

This film is the story of 4 women who seek ultimate freedom in life. Criticizing many aspects of patriarchy, the film also discusses how women find their subtle free moments. Directed by Srivastava, the film stars Kangana Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Plabita Borthakur and Ahana Kumra in the lead roles.

Colette (2018)

Starring Kiara Knightley, the film marks the end of your quest for a classic period drama. The film, based on the life of French novelist Sidoni Gabriela Colette, shows another face of oppressed women. Colette, who writes and publishes excellent novels, is married and has to publish works in her husband's name. The story is about Colette, who gets the praise and fame she deserves and does not get the name and recognition she deserves for being a woman, then fights back into life and upholds her own personality.
