Launched in 1977, it covers an area of 40 square kilometers. It is located at a distance of 53 km from Imphal. This swampy area is also the only natural habitat for endangered Sangai deer.
The people of Manipur place more importance on celebrations in life than in other North Eastern states. These celebrations are a way for them to forget their sorrows for a while and enjoy that time as well.
