Though not many tourists have visited Manipur, Manipur offers a memorable sight to behold. This state has a special place in the minds of tourists, though it is difficult to find an answer to the question of which state is the smartest of the seven sister states. Apart from the fairs and festivals and the traditional way of life, Manipur also has a lot to offer.

Land of diversity

AlightIndia

Manipur is a land of diversity in every corner. This diversity can be seen in views, lifestyles and cultures. The same is true of the people who live here. The Manipuris known as the Maithis live in the valleys and plains of the native Imphal, while the Naga and Kuki gotras live in the mountains.

If you travel to different parts of Manipur, you can see beautiful pictures of the countryside. One of them is the beautiful villages here. Each village is beautifully preserved. Every village has a public pool and community hall.

Loktak Lake

OutlookIndia

Loktak Lake is the biggest wonder of Manipur. Loktak, the largest freshwater lake in North East India, offers a unique view to the tourists. The biggest feature of the lake is its flowing shores. The locals call it the Magic Coast. No wonder the name impresses. It looks like an island, but it's not. It is made up of small shores formed by a combination of different types of organic matter, soil and debris. Each of these fossils is surrounded by the roots of the plants inside the lake.

Floating National Park

Manipur is also home to the only floating national park in the world, and the Keibul Lanjao Sangai Park, located inside the lake, is also known as the National Park. Launched in 1977, it covers an area of 40 square kilometers. It is located at a distance of 53 km from Imphal. This swampy area is also the only natural habitat for endangered Sangai deer.

Celebrations that last throughout the year

Outlook India

The people of Manipur place more importance on celebrations in life than in other North Eastern states. These celebrations are a way for them to forget their sorrows for a while and enjoy that time as well.
