Review of the movie Veetla Vishesham : An excellent remake that speaks louder than the original film.
Unnikrishnan (Sathyaraj) works for the railroads and krishnaveni is his wife (Urvashi) a housewife. They are raising a happy and disciplined family with their two kids, Ilango ( RJ Balaji) ,working as a biology teacher in his 20's and Anirudh ( Visvesh) a school student and their old grandmother Amullu ( KPAC Lalitha).
Unnikrishnan and krishnaveni are taking a huge effort to live happily as they can despite their daily life challenges , difficulties and constraints if their middle- class household. After spending a night together initmately , Krishnaveni got pregnant the next month.
Things doesn't seems to be going well at all ,as Krishnaveni decides to have the baby because they are worried about the society how would they react. Will Anirudh and Ilango will be in the position to accept this reality and parents choice?
Good work was done by Sathyaraj, Urvashi and RJ Balaji. The humours in their parts make the movie more and more entertaining to watch. And also the fantastic performance is given by the late KPAC Lalitha. The presence of Aparna Balamurali who potray's Ilango's girlfriend throughout the film is delightful.
Unquestionably RJ Balaji and Saravanan did a fantastic audiences leave the movie with the wet eye and a lot of feelings in their heart. Some of the difference between the family drama and the original makes it worthwhile to watch.
When the movie was being promoted, Balaji who co- directed the movie with NJ Saravanan, kept saying that he saw this as a chance to" improve" the original, which is the promise made for every remake. Fortunately this doesn't turn into a case of pie in the sky. The producers seems to have been explicit about what to retain from the original and what do leave out. Something new and peculiar scenes.
Veetla Vishesham is considered and accepted by the audience as a good and dramatic family oriented film.
It is not as simple as we think to translate a movie into an another language. It just needs a lot and lot of hardwork . Being aware of that the original movie was a smash hit as it requires a lot of boldness and a high confident level. Many Hind movies are being translated or remade in Tamil , vice vera ,in recent years. "Badhaai Ho" is one of the Hindi movie that is been remade in Tamil is "Veetla Vishesham" directed by RJ Balaji.
